- My dad thinks he is funny (okay he is funny) and got me a Twilight Valentine. Basically he caught me watching Vampire Dairies decided that equaled Twilight and has never let it go. So yes, I got a card saying that the sparkly vampires of Twilight hoped my day didn't bite :P.

(This card was actually signed 'Ripley', because my dad also thinks it is funny to sign the dogs names to cards. Ripley got me a pair of slippers for Christmas actually ...).

- I didn't watch the whole robot vs peoples on Jeprody last night (whoops), but this atcile written about the upcoming game show show, made me laugh.

Watson, a soulless robot invented by IBM to prove that machines can finally defeat their creators at the oldest game in human history: Knowledge of Random Trivia. (You’ll recall that the last time IBM did something like this, they created an abomination called Deep Blue, which defeated Garry Kasparov and ruined chess forever. In other news, IBM is changing its name to “Skynet.”) .

I'm not going to lie. I am very excited for the Where In The World Is Carmen Sandeigo game that will be on Facebook tomorrow.

I love all of these. They are "Little Golden Book–style illustrations of famous scenes from films", and they are cracking me up.

Shockingly, I am rather partial to the Terminator one.

I never knew that Nathan Fillion was in Blast From The Past!

EDIT: I know I watch too much TV. But I realize on nights like tonight when there is something I want to watch on from 8pm-12pm that I might have a serious problem.

I love Faith Erin Hicks.

Please note: As I share this, I am wearing a scarf that is not weather appropriate.

So! Instead of the reflective entry I was going to attempt to write .... have the results of an internet quiz instead!

My pirate name is:

Iron Jenny Bonney

A pirate's life isn't easy; it takes a tough person. That's okay with you, though, since you a tough person. You can be a little bit unpredictable, but a pirate's life is far from full of certainties, so that fits in pretty well. Arr!

I really need to start using my twitter again. I just have so many random things I want to whine / point at / commnet on during the day :P So instead Kelly's link dump for Monday. Updated as the day goes on.

I'd also like lots of other things, like a pony, for it to be Friday, my neck to stop hurting, and my coworkers to have all remembered to take their happy pills today.
seriousmoonlight: (in the big chair)
I really should just go back to using my twitter ... :P . So as the day goes on random short updates I probably should have used my twitter for.

Yes. )

Point The First: It has bothered* me since I was eight that they said Ralph is the leader. The leader is so Leo. So Leo. Ahem, yes I attempted to convince people we should watch this movie this weekend but alas. Didn't happen.

Point The Second: Meanwhile WHY, DEAR GOD WHY?. Can we just leave Planet Of The Apes alone? Please? Please.

Point The Third: Because it is Mothers Day I was going to make a picspam of Ripley in Aliens. Okay honestly I was just going to make a Ripley is Awesome In Aliens picspam to go with my Sarah Connor is awesome in T2 spam. However I have not finished it. So it is coming. Eventually.

*Okay it no longer bothers me. It did bother me a lot when I was a kid. But no longer

Apparently I am rooting for New York on Sunday. This, according to my Dad (I don't follow football at all.) who does not hate the Patriots with the same passion that he hates The Leafs, but he's still not a fan. So he told me on the way in to work this morning; "By the way, your hoping that New York wins on Sunday."

So umm, go Giants? Maybe?

Talked to my sister last night (yay), and she's all 'ohmygod Heroes' and I'm all 'took you long enough to get on this train!' and yes. She's just making her way through Season 1, and she's making some guesses (wrong guesses) at what's going to happen next. When I go to visit her in Feb, I'm going to bring some DL'ed Chuck episodes with me, because I think she'll like that. Like me, my sister went through the stage where she wanted to grow up and work for the CIA, or FBI. Too bad you know, where Canadian and all.

So I guess we'd have to have settled for CSIS.

For the record, my favorite CSIS story: In 1999, classified documents were stolen from the car of a CSIS employee who was attending a Toronto Maple Leafs hockey game.
