If we can all pretend this was posted on Friday which is when I wrote it? that would be fab. I wrote it at my work computer and left it saved in my at work Microsoft Word. Whoops!

Written Friday, Aug 27th

Okay. so last night I was watching CityTV, and they re-ran the paint
ball episode of Community. Now I only have seen about three
episodes of this show, I was amused by them, but it aired at the same
time Supernatural did, and well. Sorry, but SPN won out.

Anyways, paint ball episode = one of the most amazing things ever. Or
to me. Because it was all action movie cliche and just ... it was
beautiful.

That show is on my To Watch this fall.

I need EW or some other website to post some Fall TV Preview thing --
because I'm lazy, and don't want to go and seek out all the premiere
dates myself.

Day 16 -- Book Meme )

Day 15 – Your “comfort” book

It was for the longest time, The Princess Bride. I'd grab it, flip it open to the fight between the "Dread Pirate Roberts" and Inigo Montoya, or read about the Fire Swamp. Now when I'm feeling blue, or need a pick me up I read Lamb by Christopher Moore.

This sums it up for me regarding the book:

"If you have come to these pages for laughter, may you find it.
If you are here to be offended, may your ire rise and your blood boil.
If you seek an adventure, may this song sing you away to blissful escape.
If you need to test or confirm your beliefs, may you reach comfortable conclusions.
All books reveal perfection, by what they are or what they are not.
May you find that which you seek, in these pages or outside them.
May you find perfection, and know it by name."

Suffice it to say a book about "Biff Jesus Childhood Pal" entertains me, makes me cry, makes me laugh, and reminds me that really what it boils down to is: be nice to others. Plus it's a most epic road story.

Day 05 – A book or series you hate

Keeping in mind that reading is subjective, and what I like I know others don't, ect, ect . . I am not a fan of Twilight.

In unrelated things ... I ate too much candy. Now I feel like I'm going to hurl.

Day 04 – Your favorite book or series ever

I have to pick JUST ONE? Oh my gosh. Umm. Okay I really, really, really enjoy the book The Dead Zone by Stephen King. It is one of his earlier works, and one of his shorter works, but man. Do I love it. A lot. I think it reminds me that a story doesn't have to be a epic door stop monster size of a book to be epic (and err, not that I have a problem with those books, because I love me some epics). There's just ... something about that story that draws me back to it time and time again. So if I have to pick ONE favorite book, I'll go with that.

Series wise -- I don't know.

My initial gut reaction for a set of books i enjoyed all the way through was Jennifer Fallon's Second Sons trilogy. So I'll go with that. I like a LOT of series of books, but that one I liked all three. So I'll go with that!

Day 03 – The best book you’ve read in the last 12 months

OIS. Umm. I really liked His Majesty's Dragon I thought the concept was AMAZING. So that was the best I think that I've read in the last 12 months. Honorable mentions go to my re-read of The Lies Of Locke Lamora, The Stepsisters Scheme, and Her Fearful Symmetry (which I thought was weird, but also cool).

Woo. Friday The 13th.

Day 02 – A book or series you wish more people were reading and talking about
I'm a terrible person for reading / talking about books with others. So I guess ... any book talk would be nice? As I get a lot of my books from the library I'm not always up with the new releases buuutt ... I guess I wish more people had read Tanya Huff's Summon The Keeper because it is hysterical. And it's Canadian so wooot for that!

Also: Terry Prattchett’s Discworld. i know it has a lot (a lot) of fans. But none of my friends read it, so I’m always “oh hahah, I’m laughing thinking about that time Vimes ... oh wait. Never mind.”
seriousmoonlight: (book love)
A book meme! Because I am interested in writing about what I read.

But first ... a word from Christopher Moore.

HAHAHAH. Oh Christopher Moore )

The Meme! )

Day 01 – A book series you wish had gone on longer OR a book series you wish would just freaking end already (or both!)

While there are book series that I wish would end, I don't want to start the meme off on a negative note!

Hmm. Well not so much "I want it to go on longer" but more "I want the next book now! Because I'm getting the shakes! And damn it write faster!" would be Scott Lynch's next book (The Republic of Thieves). I want more. And I want it NOW.

Also I'm bummed that there is apparently only one more Jim C Hines Princess book in the works. WOE. I love those girls, and would read about them from now until the end of time. However I do look forward to seeing what he writes next (so there is an upside there!).
